Taxpayers Relief in Focus
The Gujarat Tax Bar Association, under the leadership of President Khurram Taufiq Malik and General Secretary Tahir Hassan Butt, is actively campaigning for enhanced services at the National Tax Number (NTN) Cell of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in the Gujarat region.
Taxpayers in the Gujarat region are facing significant challenges due to the current process of updating taxpayer profiles or making corrections. The Gujarat Tax Bar Association, led by President Khurram Taufiq Malik, has highlighted the issue, pointing out the inconvenience and uncertainty caused by the existing system.
As it stands, taxpayers are required to travel to the Sialkot Regional Tax Office (RTO) for any updates or corrections to their profiles. This requirement results in not only a loss of time but also additional costs, creating a cumbersome and inefficient process. This has led to growing dissatisfaction among the taxpayer community, with calls for a more streamlined and localized approach.
President Malik emphasized the need for reform, stating, “The current system places an undue burden on taxpayers, who are already navigating various challenges.” He proposed several measures to improve the situation. These include the appointment of a Local Registration Officer, the establishment of an NTN Cell within the Gujarat zone, and the setting up of a Camp Office of the Appeal Commissioner. These steps, according to Malik, will significantly ease the difficulties faced by taxpayers and ensure a more efficient tax process.
The Gujarat Tax Bar Association’s initiative highlights the urgent need for administrative reforms in the region’s tax system to better serve the needs of its taxpayers.
